Printed in its year of first publication, 1951, this USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is in excellent condition, very lightly handled and never folded, on thick stock that has kept it smooth and flat. Covering a stretch of the lower Yakima Valley about 35 miles southeast of Yakima, the quad takes in Grandview and Sunnyside and spans parts of Benton and Yakima counties. Built from a 1935 through 1950 aerial and field survey, it captures the irrigated farm country of the valley at mid-century, with small library stamps in the collar the only trace of prior ownership.
