This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1957 edition printed in 1974, and the sheet is in very good condition with light handling and a single midsheet horizontal foldline. Covering a stretch of the northwestern South Carolina upcountry southwest of Spartanburg, the quad area takes in Greer, Simpsonville, Woodruff, Duncan, and the crossroads community of Five Forks, spanning parts of Greenville, Spartanburg, and Laurens counties. Drawn from field survey work carried out between 1934 and 1957, it records these Piedmont towns and the surrounding countryside during the years before the region’s postwar suburban growth reshaped the land between Greer and Greenville.

The Greer 15-minute map shows cities and towns, roads, railroads, utilities and energy infrastructure, rivers, creeks, elevation contour lines, public land survey lines, county, state, and other administrative boundaries as they existed at the time of the survey in 1934 through 1957. A reddish tint may be used on this sheet to indicate urban areas where only landmark buildings will be shown. Outside of those areas, all known structures (houses, businesses churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are shown.
