Laredo Montana Box Elder Agency USGS Topographic Map 1975
$42
A 1959 edition printed in 1975, this USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is in excellent condition, having been very lightly handled and never folded, so it remains smooth and flat on thick stock. Covering an 11-by-17-mile stretch southwest of Havre in north-central Montana, the quad takes in Box Elder and parts of the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation, along with communities such as Parker School, Sangrey, and Azure across Chouteau and Hill counties. Mapped from a 1956 and 1959 aerial and field survey with 20-foot contours, it records the open reservation country of the Bears Paw foothills in fine detail, and its flat, unfolded condition makes it well suited to framing.

FEATURES SHOWN ON THE MAP
The Laredo 15-minute map shows cities and towns, roads, railroads, utilities and energy infrastructure, rivers, creeks, elevation contour lines, public land survey lines, county, state, and other administrative boundaries as they existed at the time of the survey in 1956 and 1959. All known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are also shown.
A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
Maps from the 15-minute series for the continental United States are no longer produced or printed by the USGS and original prints are becoming increasingly difficult to find. They are a valuable historical record for an area, as they contain many placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.
