This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1958 edition, printed in 1960, in very good condition on a lightly handled sheet that was never folded and carries a flawless map area. Covering roughly 46 miles north of Pittsburgh in western Pennsylvania, the quad takes in the northern side of New Castle in Lawrence County and reaches into Mercer County, with New Wilmington and Volant within its boundaries. Printed on thick stock with only hole punches in the left collar, the sheet renders the Shenango and Neshannock valley country at ten-foot contour detail, showing the towns and farmland of this corner of the state at mid-century.
