This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a first-year 1947 print, published and printed that same year, in very good condition on thick stock. Covering a stretch of southern Indiana about 11 miles west of Louisville, the quad takes in Floyd and Harrison counties and includes the communities of Georgetown, Galena, and Greenville within its boundaries. The sheet was never folded and has a flawless map area with an unmarked collar, and it carries a 1938 field survey credited to geographer Albert Pike, small details that place its making in the years before Louisville’s postwar suburbs pushed west.
