This USGS 7.5-minute topographic sheet of Jawbone Ridge, California, is a first-year 1949 print, published and printed in that year, and is in good condition with foldlines and evidence of considerable handling. Drawn from a 1945 and 1947 aerial and field survey, it takes in country along the Tuolumne River near Buck Meadows and Groveland-Big Oak Flat in the Sierra Nevada foothills, with part of Stanislaus National Forest within the quad boundaries. This is Gold Rush and gold-country terrain in the Mariposa and Tuolumne county region, and the reverse carries printed reference material on reading the map’s contours and symbols.
