This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1961 edition, printed in 1964, in very good condition on thick stock and lightly handled, never folded. Covering an area about 43 miles north of Pittsburgh where Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer counties meet, the quad takes in the borough of Slippery Rock along with the community of West Liberty. Home to what is now Slippery Rock University, the town gives the sheet a name that many will recognize, and its flawless map area shows the surrounding countryside at a detailed 1:24,000 scale with 10-foot contours.
