This USGS 15-minute topographic map of The Spur is a 1953 edition with 1970 revisions, printed in 1971 on thick stock and kept in excellent condition — very lightly handled and never folded. Covering roughly 14 by 17 miles of southeastern Utah about 35 miles southwest of Moab, it takes in part of Canyonlands National Park along with the Green River through Stillwater Canyon, the Horseshoe Canyon Unit, and a portion of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. The 80-foot contour interval traces the deep canyon country and rock benches of this remote stretch of the Colorado Plateau, where the Green winds toward its confluence with the Colorado. The flat, never-folded sheet lends itself well to framing.
