This USGS/Army Corps of Engineers 7.5-minute topographic sheet is a 1953 edition with 1985 photorevisions, printed in 1985 on thick stock and in very good condition, with foldlines and moderate handling. The quad covers the eastern side of Yakima, Washington, taking in Terrace Heights, Union Gap, and the Moxee area, along with the community of Parker and part of the Yakama Indian Reservation. The 1985 revisions layered over the 1953 base make it a useful record of how the valley around Yakima looked as the city and its neighboring towns filled out in the mid-1980s.

Outside of those areas, all known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are shown.

A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
This map is from the 7.5-minute series, the most detailed series that is widely available from the USGS. The 1953 Yakima East map is a valuable historical record for the area. It contains some placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.

The map was photorevised in 1985. Any features that changed or were added between the original edition year of 1953 and the photorevision year of 1985 are overlayed in purple. The purple overlay provides an excellent view of the fast-growing and changing areas within the quad boundary.
