This USGS topographic map is a 1954 edition printed in 1961, a 15-minute quad in good condition that was moderately handled but never folded. It takes in a stretch of lake-dotted country in Aroostook and Penobscot Counties, roughly 35 miles southwest of Presque Isle, with Grand Lake Seboeis giving the sheet its name. A previous owner used it as a fisherman’s working map, neatly noting the fish species he found in several of the lakes, so it carries a firsthand record of the waters it depicts.
