This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1947 edition printed in 1978, in excellent condition, lightly handled and never folded. Covering roughly 14 by 17 miles about 40 miles west of Flagstaff, the quad takes in the town of Ash Fork in northern Arizona, with parts of both the Kaibab and Prescott National Forests falling within its boundaries. Its 1947 base was drawn from a 1946 and 1947 aerial and field survey completed before Interstate 40 was built, showing the earlier road network through this stretch of high country. This sheet comes from the vintage map collection of Art Christiansen of Tempe, Arizona.
