This USGS 7.5-minute topographic sheet is a 1962 edition, printed in 1964, in very good condition on thick stock with a single midsheet horizontal foldline and a lightly handled sheet. Covering an 8-by-9-mile stretch of Volusia County about 46 miles north of Orlando, the quad takes in the western edges of Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach along with the swampy expanse of Tiger Bay and Scoggin Lake. Built from a 1958 and 1962 aerial and field survey, it records the inland flatwoods and wetlands just behind the coast rather than the beachfront itself, a side of the area that draws far less attention. The map area shows no markings or blemishes, and the collar is clean as well.
