Printed in its first year of publication, 1943, this Army Corps of Engineers topographic sheet is a 15-minute quad in very good condition, lightly handled and never folded on thick stock. The mapped area takes in the city of Lancaster along with Columbia, Lititz, Millersville, Mount Joy, and Manheim, with the eastern edge of Lebanon County reaching into the northwest around Mount Gretna. Compiled from a 1938 through 1943 aerial and field survey before the modern interstate system was built, it records the overland roads and placenames of the Pennsylvania Dutch country as they stood in the early 1940s. The sheet carries a library stamp in the center right collar and a horizontal storage crease along the bottom collar, with edge protectors applied.
