Centered on Chambersburg in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, the quad takes in the surrounding communities of Fayetteville, Guilford, Scotland, and Marion in the Cumberland Valley about 75 miles northwest of Washington. The map’s base reflects a 1943 aerial and field survey, showing the town and its farmland at that mid-century moment; a library stamp sits in the center-right collar, and edge protectors have been applied. The clean, unfolded sheet would frame well.
