This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1943 edition printed in 1964, in very good condition on thick stock, lightly handled and never folded. Centered on Chambersburg in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, the quad takes in the surrounding communities of Fayetteville, Guilford, Scotland, and Marion in the Cumberland Valley about 75 miles northwest of Washington. The map’s base reflects a 1943 aerial and field survey, showing the town and its farmland at that mid-century moment; a library stamp sits in the center-right collar, and edge protectors have been applied. The clean, unfolded sheet would frame well.
