This joint USGS and Army Corps of Engineers 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1953 edition printed in 1959, in good condition on thick stock. Drawn at 1:24,000 with a 10-foot contour interval, it takes in country southwest of San Antonio in Bexar County, with the community of Macdona and portions of Lackland Air Force Base within the quad boundaries. The sheet was lightly handled and never folded, with a flawless map area and only a light crease in one corner, and the joint military-civilian authorship reflects the mapping work tied to the base and its surroundings in the postwar years.
