This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1954 edition printed in 1978, and the sheet is in excellent condition: very lightly handled, never folded, and printed on thick stock that has stayed smooth and flat. Covering high desert country in Coconino County about 20 miles west of Page, the quad takes in the Paria Plateau, the Vermillion Cliffs, and the Paria River, with part of the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness inside its boundaries. The redrock plateau and cliff country here is among the most rugged in northern Arizona, and this sheet comes from the vintage map collection of Art Christiansen of Tempe.
