This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1959 edition printed in 1964, and the sheet is in excellent condition—very lightly handled, never folded, and smooth and flat on thick stock. Covering roughly 15 by 17 miles about 30 miles north of Tucson, the quad takes in the communities of Oracle, Catalina, and Oracle Junction across Pima and Pinal counties, along with part of the Coronado National Forest. With an 80-foot contour interval drawn from a 1958 and 1959 aerial and field survey, it records the rugged high country on the northern flank of the Santa Catalina Mountains. Because it was never folded and remains flat, this sheet is a good candidate for framing.
