This USGS 30-minute topographic sheet is an 1894 edition printed in 1948, in very good condition, lightly handled and never folded on thick stock. Covering an area of about 25 by 35 miles roughly 45 miles north of Boise, the quad takes in Cascade and the surrounding country of central Idaho, including Smiths Ferry, Ola, and Banks, with portions of the Payette and Boise National Forests and the Cascade Reservoir within its boundaries. The base map traces its origins to an 1891 field survey under geographer A.H. Thompson, showing this stretch of the mountains as it was mapped in the closing years of the nineteenth century. The map area is flawless and the reverse carries printed reference material on reading the sheet.

BACKSIDE LEGEND
A map summary is printed on the back side of the Squaw Creek sheet similar to the one shown in the picture. At the bottom of the page is a legend showing all of the symbols used to represent the cultural, relief, and water features found on the map.
