This is a USGS 7.5-minute topographic map of Sanger, California, a first-year print published in 1923 and in good condition on thick stock—moderately handled, never folded, with lightly age-toned paper. Set about 12 miles east of Fresno in the San Joaquin Valley, the quad area falls within Fresno County and takes in the town of Del Rey along with the city of Sanger itself. A fascinating historical snapshot of the Sanger region of the San Joaquin Valley, surveyed before the modern road system, showing rail lines, early lateral and canal alignments, and all known structures, churches, and schools. The survey work credited to geographer C.H. All known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are also shown, with exceptions in some urban areas, where only landmark buildings may be shown.
