Colorado City Arizona Moccasin Kaibab USGS Topo Map 1975
$45
This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1954 edition printed in 1975, in excellent condition on thick stock, lightly handled and never folded. Spanning a stretch of northern Arizona’s Mohave County about 40 miles east of Saint George, Utah, the quad area takes in the town of Colorado City along with Moccasin, Cane Beds, and Kaibab, plus part of the Kaibab Indian Reservation, Pipe Spring National Monument, and Cottonwood Point Wilderness. The Vermillion Cliffs run through this high desert country near the Utah line, a landscape mapped from 1953 and 1954 aerial and field survey work. From the vintage map collection of Art Christiansen of Tempe, Arizona, the flawless map area and never-folded sheet make it a strong candidate for framing.

FEATURES SHOWN ON THE MAP
The Colorado City 15-minute map shows cities and towns, roads, railroads, utilities and energy infrastructure, rivers, creeks, elevation contour lines, public land survey lines, county, state, and other administrative boundaries as they existed at the time of the survey in 1953 and 1954. All known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are also shown.
A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
Maps from the 15-minute series for the continental United States are no longer produced or printed by the USGS and original prints are becoming increasingly difficult to find. They are a valuable historical record for an area, as they contain many placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.
