This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1962 edition printed in 1972, in excellent condition on thick stock and never folded, smooth and flat with a flawless map area. It takes in a stretch of Grand Canyon National Park along the Colorado River about 35 miles northwest of Grand Canyon Village, drawn from aerial and field survey work carried out between 1954 and 1962, and its boundaries include portions of the Kaibab National Forest, the Havasupai Indian Reservation, and the Kanab Creek Wilderness across Coconino and Mohave counties. Well-known Grand Canyon landmarks fall within this quad, among them Havasu, Mooney, and Beaver Falls, Great Thumb Mesa, Fossil Bay, and the Granite Narrows. It comes from the vintage map collection of Art Christiansen of Tempe, Arizona.
