This USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is a 1904 edition printed in 1915, and it survives in very good condition on thick stock, never folded with a clean map area free of wear or markings. It takes in a stretch of eastern Long Island in Suffolk County, with Riverhead, Hampton Bays, and Manorville within its bounds along with Mattituck, East Quogue, Flanders, and the barrier stretch toward Fire Island. Surveyed before the modern highway system, it records the overland travel routes, rail lines, early placenames, and structures known at the time of the 1904 field survey, and it comes from an uncommonly well-preserved collection; the reverse carries printed USGS reference material.
