This joint USGS and Army Corps of Engineers topographic sheet is a 1955 edition, printed in 1965, in very good condition on thick stock and never folded. Covering roughly 25 miles southwest of New York City, the quad area takes in Plainfield, Edison, New Brunswick, and South Plainfield across parts of Middlesex, Somerset, and Union counties. At 1:24000 with 20-foot contours, it maps this densely settled stretch of central New Jersey in fine detail, showing the street grids and terrain of the mid-1950s landscape. The map area is flawless, with only hole punches and a minor blemish confined to the collar.
