This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1965 edition printed in 1966, and the sheet is in good condition, never folded, with a flawless map area and only minor blemishes to the collar. Set in the desert country of southwestern Arizona about 75 miles east of Yuma, the quad takes in parts of the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge and its wilderness, along with the Granite, Bryan, and Mohawk Mountains that rise from the surrounding basin. The Cabeza Prieta country is among the most remote and arid stretches of the Sonoran Desert, and the 40-foot contours trace the sharp desert ranges against the broad valleys between them.
