This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1960 edition printed in 1963, in very good condition on thick stock, lightly handled and never folded with a flawless map area. Covering a stretch of Centre County about 19 miles north of State College, the quad takes in the borough of Snow Shoe along with Clarence. The Snow Shoe name traces back to the coal-mining country of this part of the Allegheny plateau, and the never-folded sheet lies flat enough to frame, with only hole punches in the left collar to note.
