This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1953 edition printed in 1965, in very good condition on thick stock with a flawless map area and never folded. Drawn from aerial and field survey work carried out between 1935 and 1953, it takes in the Kaibab Plateau and the Grand Canyon Highway in Coconino County, along with the community of Jacob Lake and portions of the Kaibab National Forest, the Saddle Mountain Wilderness, and the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness. The plateau country here is the high, forested approach to the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, and the 50-foot contours trace its rolling ponderosa uplands in detail.
