This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1955 edition printed in 1978, and the sheet is in excellent condition: never folded, smooth and flat, with a flawless map area and a clean collar free of markings or blemishes. The quad sits in Coconino County about 65 miles north of Flagstaff, taking in country along the Little Colorado River gorge and including portions of the Kaibab National Forest and the Navajo Indian Reservation. This is deep, canyon-cut backcountry with little in the way of towns, printed on thick stock and drawn from the vintage map collection of Art Christiansen of Tempe, Arizona. Because the sheet was never folded, it lies flat and takes well to framing.
