This USGS/Army Corps of Engineers 7.5-minute topographic sheet is a 1952 edition with 1967 revisions, printed in 1968 and in very good condition, lightly handled and never folded. Covering an area about 27 miles south of Phoenix in Pinal County, the quad takes in the town of Maricopa, Ak-Chin Village, and parts of the Ak-Chin and Gila River Indian Reservations. Based on a 1951 and 1952 aerial and field survey, when the Maricopa area held only a few dozen structures, it records the region well before its later growth. The map area shows no wear, no markings, and no blemishes, and the sheet is printed on thick stock.

This vintage sheet is a 1952 edition of the Maricopa Arizona USGS topographic map revised in 1967 using aerial photography. It is an original 58-year-old 1968 United States Geological Survey print in very good condition.

All known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are also shown.

A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
This map is from the 7.5-minute series, the most detailed series that is widely available from the USGS. The 1952 Maricopa map is a valuable historical record for the area. It contains some placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.

The map was photorevised in 1967. Any features that changed or were added between the original edition year of 1952 and the photorevision year of 1967 are overlayed in purple. The purple overlay provides an excellent view of the fast-growing and changing areas within the quad boundary.
