This is a 1965 edition USGS topographic map printed in 1968, a vintage 7.5-minute quad in good condition, lightly handled with foldlines and a pencilled title notation on the back of the sheet. Covering an area of southwestern Colorado about 16 miles north of Cortez in Montezuma County, the quad takes in the communities of Yellow Jacket and Lewis along with part of Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and a portion of the San Juan National Forest. This corner of the state sits in the Four Corners country long known for its Ancestral Puebloan sites, and the map is printed on thick stock, with the map area itself clean and free of markings or blemishes.
