This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1956 edition printed in 1958, in excellent condition on thick stock and never folded, so the sheet is smooth and flat with a flawless map area. Covering roughly 14 by 17 miles about 45 miles southeast of Albuquerque, the quad takes in Torrance County towns including Mountainair and Estancia, along with the communities of Willard and Broncho. Drawn from 1953 and 1956 aerial and field surveys, it records the farming and ranching country of the Estancia Valley at mid-century, with contours at 20-foot intervals mapping the surrounding terrain. The only mark on the sheet is a small inventory stamp on the bottom right collar.
