A 1960 edition printed in 1963, this USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is in very good condition, lightly handled and never folded. The quad sits about 45 miles east of Albuquerque in the high grassland country where Santa Fe and Torrance counties meet, taking in the community of Stanley and roughly 14 by 17 miles of surrounding terrain. Drawn from a 1958 and 1960 aerial and field survey with a 20-foot contour interval, it maps the gentle basins and low rises of this stretch of central New Mexico, with a vertical crease through the map area and an inventory stamp in the collar the only marks on an otherwise clean print.

A reddish tint may be used on this sheet to indicate urban areas where only landmark buildings will be shown. Outside of those areas, all known structures (houses, businesses churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are shown.

A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
