Printed in 1947 as a first-year print of that edition, this USGS 7.5-minute topographic sheet is in fair condition, having been handled considerably and carrying midsheet horizontal and vertical foldlines with age discoloration along the lower vertical fold. The quad sits about 37 miles west of Fresno on the floor of the San Joaquin Valley, straddling Fresno and Madera counties, with the towns of Firebaugh and Mendota within its boundaries. Drawn from a 1920 field survey and carrying 1946 revisions, it records the farmland and irrigation country along this stretch of the valley, and the reverse carries printed reference material on reading the map.
