This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1955 edition printed in 1956, a never-folded sheet on thick stock that has been lightly handled and grades very good. It takes in Petrified Forest National Park and the Petrified Forest National Park Wilderness, about 15 miles east of Holbrook where Apache and Navajo counties meet in eastern Arizona. Drawn from surveys spanning 1910 through 1955, before Interstate 40 crossed the region, it records the older travel routes, placenames, and structures known at the time, and comes from the vintage map collection of Art Christiansen of Tempe, Arizona.
