This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1949 edition printed in 1956, a vintage sheet in good condition on thick stock, with foldlines and moderate handling from its years. Covering roughly 7 by 9 miles of Orange County about 24 miles southeast of Los Angeles, the quad area takes in Anaheim, Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Orange, and Fullerton. It shows the Anaheim area before Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Angel Stadium, and Interstate 5 existed, so what fills the sheet is the agricultural and small-town landscape those landmarks later replaced.

A reddish tint is used on this sheet to indicate urban areas where only landmark buildings are depicted. Outside of those areas, all known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are shown.
