This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1951 edition printed in 1978, with photorevisions from 1969 and 1974, and is in very good condition on thick stock. Covering a 7-by-9-mile stretch of Ventura County about 44 miles northwest of Los Angeles, the quad takes in the city of Moorpark and the community of Somis. Printed on heavy paper, the sheet has been lightly handled and carries a single midsheet horizontal foldline, with a clean map area free of markings or blemishes.

This vintage sheet is a 1951 edition of the Moorpark California USGS topographic map revised in 1969 and 1974 using aerial photography. It is an original 48-year-old 1978 United States Geological Survey print in very good condition.

The map was photorevised in 1969 and 1974. Any features that changed or were added between the original edition year of 1951 and the photorevision year of 1969 and 1974 are overlayed in purple. The purple overlay provides an excellent view of the fast-growing and changing areas within the quad boundary.
