This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1958 edition printed in 1973, in excellent condition on thick stock. It takes in part of the southern reaches of Joshua Tree National Park in Riverside County, California, about 15 miles east of Mecca, and its bounding box also crosses into portions of the Orocopia Mountains and Mecca Hills Wilderness areas. Drawn from a 1938 through 1958 aerial and field survey completed before Interstate 10 existed, it records this stretch of desert country as it was mapped in the mid-century, and having never been folded, the sheet lies flat.
