This is a 1892 edition of the Honesdale quad, printed in 1945, and the sheet has survived in very good condition on thick stock, lightly handled and never folded. Its 13-by-17-mile coverage spans parts of Lackawanna, Susquehanna, and Wayne counties in northeastern Pennsylvania, taking in Carbondale, Honesdale, Forest City, and Waymart, along with the smaller communities of Union Dale, Prompton, and Bethany. The area sits at the northern reach of the anthracite coal country that shaped Carbondale and Forest City, and Henry Gannett is credited as geographer on this early rendering. A library stamp sits in the center right collar, and edge protectors have been applied.
